Executive Letter
Letter from the Executive Director
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Mid-Fairfield Aids Project website.
We hope that your visit here will provide you information on the work and services that MFAP offers and we encourage you to visit our offices at 16 River Street in Norwalk, CT.
As Executive Director since 1996, I have had made my personal commitment to providing a safe, supportive and educational environment for those living and affected by HIV and AIDS in the Greater Norwalk area.
When I came to work at MFAP, I was the only staff member, with an annual budget of $50,000. The agency served the needs of 9 clients and offered basic case management, a support group and had very limited funds for Emergency Financial Assistance.
Through the years the agency has grown and has served over 800 clients, with an active caseload of 130 clients. We provide a wide variety of support services including: Case Management, Advocacy, Food Pantry, Alternative Therapy, Transportation Assistance, Computer Access, Emergency Funds, Drug Treatment Advocacy and a Support Group.
Additionally, MFAP administers a comprehensive supportive housing program with grants through HOPWA and HUD. This program offers housing support for 29 clients, helping to maintain a stable home and ensuring continued quality of life.
MFAP participates in the Greater Norwalk Consortium, a collaborative effort of all AIDS Service providers in the area that work together to ensure a continuum of care and avoid duplication of services.
My dedication to the HIV/AIDS community persists as we look forward. Our continued goal to provide support services and education to those living with or affected by the virus will take us into the future. As medications improve, and lives are extended, we will continue striving to meet the changing needs of those with HIV/AIDS.
Please take some time and explore our website, and contact us if you would like to know more about MFAP, our services or would like to inquire about any agency related matter, feel free to contact me at the link below or by calling 203-855-9535.
Sincerely,
Stuart Lane Executive Director slane@mfap.com
