Can anyone get infected?

Anyone can get infected with HIV regardless of age, sex or race. This includes heterosexual men and women not just gays and IV drug users. click here for more HIV information

How can I be safe from HIV?

The consistent use of condoms for vaginal or anal sex will protect against transmitting the HIV virus.

Where can I get condoms?

FREE CONDOMS are available at the MFAP office or can be purchased at any pharmacy.

Should I get tested for HIV?

Everyone who has had unprotected sex with anyone should get tested for HIV on a regular basis.

What is an HIV Test?

An HIV test involves a simple prick on your finger in which a drop of blood is taken and analyzed. It is a painless process and provides 99% accuracy for the testing of HIV. An oral swab test is a test which requires no blood and results are available in 20 minutes.

Your family doctor can also test for HIV but you will be charged for the visit and the test.
