About MFAP

The Mid-Fairfield AIDS Project (MFAP) was founded in 1987 by individuals from a variety of local organizations in cooperation with the Norwalk Health Department and Norwalk Hospital as an initial response to HIV/AIDS.

Since its inception in 1987, MFAP has held firm to its Mission Statement: To act as a direct and indirect service provider and advocate for all those affected by HIV/AIDS; To enhance their quality of life by developing and fostering the necessary resources to attain this goal.

  • We facilitate the coordination of support services to meet the complex needs of people infected with HIV/AIDS
  • We provide leadership by representing people with HIV disease in communities as needed.
  • We provide educational information to health providers, social service agencies and the community regarding HIV and AIDS.
  • We develop support groups to enhance the quality of life for those affected and infected by HIV.
  • We serve as a resource for prevention and risk-reduction education.
